Career Background

Monroe Freeling was a highly touted recruit from Oceanside Collegiate Academy in Mount Pleasant, South Carolina, where he helped lead the Landsharks to a state championship appearance as a senior while paving the way for a dominant rushing attack. He enrolled at Georgia in January 2023 and appeared in eight games as a true freshman on a loaded offensive line. In 2024, he saw increased reps and started four games. In 2025, as a junior, he broke out as a full-time starter at left tackle (13 starts in 14 games), earning Second-Team All-SEC honors from coaches and helping Georgia rank among the nation’s best in several offensive categories. He declared for the 2026 NFL Draft after the season.

Freeling has a clean off-field record with no arrests or known issues. He is regarded as a high-character, competitive player with strong work ethic. Scouting Report Summary

Freeling is a tall, long, and highly athletic left tackle with rare movement skills for his size. He excels in pass protection with quick feet, good mirroring ability, and the length to keep rushers at bay. In the run game, he shows promise climbing to the second level and displacing defenders when his technique is sound. With only one full season as a starter, he remains somewhat raw but possesses significant upside.

Strengths

• Elite length, frame, and athleticism — outstanding tester with fluid movement and explosiveness.

• Strong pass protector who rarely allows clean pressures; good balance and recovery.

• High ceiling with room to add strength; natural tools stand out on tape.

• Competitive and tough; played through injuries in 2025.

Weaknesses

• Still developing consistent power and anchor; can be walked back by strong bull rushers.

• Technique and leverage issues at times due to height (high-hipped).

• Limited experience as a full-time starter; raw in some run-game angles and sustaining blocks.

Ideal for zone or outside-zone schemes that can take advantage of Freeling’s elite athleticism, length, and movement skills. He possesses legitimate Day-1 starter potential at left tackle with a high ceiling. While some teams may note his relative inexperience, his combination of rare physical tools and improving technique makes him a high-upside prospect. Freeling projects as a strong first- or second-round pick with Pro Bowl potential once he adds functional strength and refines his game.
