Career Background
Born in ‘Ili’ili, American Samoa, Mauigoa moved between American Samoa and California before attending IMG Academy in Bradenton, Florida, where he became a five-star recruit. He enrolled at Miami in 2023 and started all 16 games at right tackle as a true freshman, earning Freshman All-American honors. He has started every game of his college career at right tackle (no missed starts), developing into one of the most dominant and durable blockers in college football. In 2025, he anchored Miami’s offensive line that helped the team reach the national championship game, earning consensus All-American honors, the ACC Jacobs Blocking Trophy, and All-ACC First Team recognition.
Mauigoa comes from a football family (brother Francisco Mauigoa was drafted by the Jets in 2025) and is of Samoan descent. He has a clean off-field record with no arrests or known issues and is viewed as a high-character, high-work-ethic player. Head coach Mario Cristobal and the Miami staff have praised his toughness, leadership, physicality, and “silent storm” mentality. He has been active in Polynesian community events and team service initiatives.

Scouting Report Summary
Mauigoa is a massive, powerful right tackle with a guard-like build but tackle movement skills. He plays with a mean streak, heavy hands, and outstanding contact balance. He excels at driving defenders off the ball in the run game and anchoring in pass pro. His football IQ, durability (every snap started in college), and physicality make him a tone-setter.
Strengths
• Elite size, play strength, and power — mauls in the run game and delivers firm, violent hands.
• Good athleticism for his frame; moves well laterally and climbs to the second level.
• High football IQ and competitive toughness; rarely loses once engaged.
• Proven durability and consistency as a three-year starter.
Weaknesses
• Arm length is average for a tackle, which can limit him against elite edge speed (may project better inside at guard for some teams).
• Can lean excessively, affecting leverage and sustain in certain blocks.
• Still refining technique against high-level counters and spin moves.
Final Evaluation

Ideal for gap or zone schemes that value power and physicality at right tackle or guard. Mauigoa has legitimate Day-1 starter potential and projects as a high-floor, multi-year starter with All-Pro upside if he refines his technique and maintains his durability. Teams love his toughness and “mauler” mentality. As one of the strongest and most experienced offensive line prospects in the 2026 class, he is a strong candidate for the late first round.
